What the module does
- A survey consists of steps and questions - one step is one page; you fill the survey in step by step with a progress indicator.
- You only receive surveys meant for you - your employer targets them at a branch, depot, category or specific employees (the same way as news).
- Question types: Info block (no answer), Text answer, Single choice, Multiple choice, Yes/No, Number, Scale, Date and Confirmation. Option-based questions may allow an “Other” choice with additional text. When a “Multiple choice” question allows only one, it is answered with radio buttons - tapping another option replaces the previous one.
- Mandatory questions - the survey cannot be submitted until they are answered. For a Confirmation question the tick is enforced only when the question is marked as mandatory. The app points out any unanswered question.
- You can interrupt filling in and finish later - answers in progress stay saved on the server, so you can continue on another device.
- Submitting locks the survey - answers can no longer be changed and the submitted survey becomes read-only.
- Deadline - the card only shows where you stand in time: N days left, Deadline is today, Past deadline, or No deadline. The exact date appears once you open the survey. After the deadline, depending on the survey settings, submission is either blocked or the answer is accepted and flagged as “after the deadline”.
- Anonymous survey - answers are stored without a personnel number and the app says so explicitly. An answer in progress is still temporarily tied to your account so that you can continue; the link is irreversibly removed only on submission, so a submitted anonymous survey can no longer be displayed. Your employer sees aggregate results only; the fact that you submitted is recorded even for an anonymous survey (so reminders work).
- List filter: To Complete / Submitted / All.
- The number of surveys to complete is shown as a badge on the tile; a new survey triggers a push notification.
The module has two permission levels: the Surveys role allows filling surveys in; the Surveys (administration) role additionally creates surveys, builds their structure and evaluates the answers (web only).
A portal user without a personnel number can fill in a survey too (typically a dispatcher) - the portal identifies the person by e-mail and takes their assignment from their company membership.
Differences between the phone and the web
- Surveys are created and evaluated exclusively on the web; they can be filled in both in EDISONKA and in the portal.
- The step and question editor and the driver’s-eye Preview are available on the web only. A survey passes through the states Draft → Published → Closed → Archived. Only the first transition is fixed: you can move freely between Published, Closed and Archived in both directions, but never back to Draft.
- The structure of a published survey locks as soon as someone answers it - you can still change the texts, the order of steps and questions, whether a question is mandatory, the question settings, the dates and the targeting. No question can be added or removed any more, and anonymity can no longer be changed either. To rebuild the structure, the web offers a copy of the survey as a new one; the copy also serves as a template for surveys repeated regularly.
- Evaluation (web only): participation “X of Y” and the participation rate (in progress / not started / after the deadline), a chart for every question, a listing of text answers, a breakdown by depot, category or branch, a list of respondents and of those who have not responded, an export to Excel, and a protocol of a single response.
- An anonymous survey has a threshold of five answers - results are released only from five submitted surveys, and a segment with fewer than five answers is suppressed in the breakdown. The list of respondents by name and the protocol of a single response are not released at all for an anonymous survey.
- Notification and reminder (web only) - a push can already go out on publication: the publish dialog offers Notify recipients with a push notification, and if the survey has a publish date in the future, the notification is sent on the day it becomes available. The administrator can also send the push manually with a button. A reminder can be sent manually or left to go out automatically N days before the deadline; in both cases it goes only to those who have not submitted the survey yet.
