What the module can do
- Display the live position of vehicles (colour-coded map markers by status) and an overview of services in progress.
- Service progress - for a selected service, the stop passings are shown with the timetable time, the actual entry and exit and the delay. Available both on the web and in EDISONKA.
- Send a message to the driver in the vehicle - to up to 50 vehicles at once, with a text of at most 500 characters. Below the form is a Recently sent section showing what was sent, when, and whether it succeeded. If the message cannot be delivered - the vehicle has no on-board computer, it does not belong to your depot, or the message server is not responding - the app tells you straight away instead of claiming it was sent.
- Display vehicle occupancy.
- Restrict the display to a selected workplace.
- Sorting by plate number or driver name, full-text search.
- Fleet number (the number the company gave the vehicle) - dispatchers know the vehicles by it rather than by the plate, so it is shown everywhere the vehicle appears: on the map next to the vehicle and in its bubble as Plate/Fleet no., on the web also as a column of its own in the vehicle and service lists (you can sort by it), and in EDISONKA next to the plate on the card. It is in the vehicle detail and the service progress too. You can search by the plate as well as by the fleet number. A vehicle with no fleet number in the ERP system shows only its plate.
- Vehicles above the delay threshold are also watched by the Delayed vehicles dashboard widget.
- Vehicle positions and stop passings are supplied by the ERP system from the on-board computers in the vehicles.
Differences between the phone and the web
- EDISONKA offers the Map, Vehicles and Services views and a separate Vehicle Location screen with a map.
- The web additionally offers the Map / List / Lines / All views, automatic refresh and seven filters: Search, Vehicle states, Depot, Workplace, Vehicle label (Plate / Line-Service / Duty / Icon only), Service states and an Active only / Incl. inactive switch.
Carrier settings
How often dispatching refreshes itself, what gets highlighted and whether messages can be sent is set by your carrier. You switch the view yourself and the browser remembers your choice.
- Automatic refresh (s) - how often vehicle positions and statuses are reloaded. Empty = 30 s.
- Delay that is highlighted (min) - from how many minutes a delay is shown in red and the vehicle appears in the dashboard widget. Empty = 5 min, 0 = every delay.
- Allow messages to vehicles - switched on by default; when switched off, the send button is not offered at all. Sending goes through the Mikroelektronika and Telmax message servers your carrier has configured in its dispatching; without them nothing is sent even when this is switched on.
