What the module can do
- Display the schedule for a selected month.
- Day order - on the web, a Day order field in the filter that runs the days from the start or from the end of the month; from the end you have the current day at the top without scrolling. In EDISONKA the order is reversed by the arrow button in the period header. Shifts within a day always remain chronological. The choice is shared between the AD and MHD schedules in EDISONKA, whereas on the web each module remembers it separately.
- Cards or list (EDISONKA only) - a switch next to the sort arrow. Cards are the default. List shows the month as a calendar: one row per entry and also days without entries (a dash), weeks in blocks, weekends in red, today in blue. Leave, sickness and other absences have the whole row tinted; an icon gives away a note and a green tick an approved document. The calendar ends on the day up to which the carrier has published the plan - it doesn’t show it any further yet, so an empty day beyond that point doesn’t mean a day off. Tap a row to open the shift detail, press and hold to copy it. The choice is shared between the AD and MHD schedules; on the web its counterpart is the Cards / Table switch.
- Hours for the month - above the schedule you see the hours worked, the working time fund and the difference; a negative difference (hours missing from the fund) is shown in red. What the hours are made of is shown on the web in the summary above the schedule and in EDISONKA on the card after a tap: planned (duties not yet approved, including draft ones), driven (approved documents) and absence (leave, sickness and other absences your carrier counts as hours). EDISON calculates the figures the same way as in the transport plan, so you see the same as the dispatcher. The hours appear once your carrier has an updated EDISON.
- On the shift card you can see the plate number and the fleet number (vehicle inventory number) and the hours worked in the duty roster. If you drive on integrated transport (IDS) routes, the duty number is followed by the course number you use to sign in to the ticketing system.
- Tapping a card opens the shift detail - and from it the service progress, including the route on the map.
- A platform listed in the timetable is shown in brackets after the stop name in the service progress, for example Prachatice (8).
- In the shift detail, a service shows the platform of its first and last stop, for example Platform 3 → 5.
- On the service map (EDISONKA only), the My location button shows where you are: the map then follows the vehicle, the screen stays on and your location stays on the phone. When you move the map, it stops following and Back to my location returns it to the vehicle.
- If you have the Rosters module, the roster number in the shift detail is a link that opens Rosters with that roster on the day of the shift.
- The shift detail shows whether you drive routes up to 50 km or over 50 km (on the web, the Routes field); a single service over 50 km puts the whole shift over 50 km. It appears once your carrier has an updated EDISON.
- The shift detail also shows the total km and driving time of the shift, just like the performance overview on the printed roster (on the web, the Total km and Driving fields). They appear once your carrier has an updated EDISON.
- Notes from the roster header and footer appear in the shift detail above and below the breakdown, notes within the roster at the activity they belong to. The header and footer appear once your carrier has an updated EDISON.
- A roster with a diversion (marked as a detour roster in EDISON) carries the Diversion label, in the List view an arrow icon, and journeys on the diversion timetable are highlighted in the shift detail. The diversion appears once your carrier has an updated EDISON.
- If your company published a news item for a route (typically about a diversion), the shift detail shows a link to the news item under each journey on that route.
- The shift detail also opens the electronic trip log (the Trip log button) - it is filled in just as in the My Day module. No trip log is filled in for a graphical-timetable record, so the button is unavailable there. The table view of the schedule also shows the trip log columns (status, km and engine-hour readings before and after, distance driven, hours accrued, fuel, AdBlue and heater diesel refuelling, actual plate number).
- Notes for the trip (e.g. for a coach tour) are shown directly on the card.
- If your carrier allows it, the shift detail also shows who drove the vehicle before your shift and who will drive it after - the time, the driver’s name and the date if it falls on another day. The schedule cards do not show these rows. The data is available only for journey documents from today onwards and the following journey is searched a week ahead.
- For a tour (occasional transport) the tour leader and their phone number are shown right on the shift card and in the detail; the web table has its own columns for them. You can call the number directly.
- A tour also shows the order attachments the dispatcher published for you in EDISON (for example the tour programme). In EDISONKA they are on the shift card and in the detail, on the web in the shift detail. Open an attachment by tapping its name. In EDISONKA a PDF or an image is shown directly and any other file is offered for opening in another app. On the web the attachment opens in a new browser tab; a file the browser cannot display (for example Word) is downloaded.
- Once the document has been approved, the schedule shows the actual data from the document instead of the planned values - times, places and the vehicle therefore match how the journey really went. Such a duty carries the Approved label. The log sheet values then come from the document too, so they may differ from what you entered - the dispatcher may have adjusted them when closing the duty.
The route is shown on the map only when the stops in the ERP system have GPS coordinates filled in.
Carrier settings
Are you seeing something other than you expect in the schedule - or, conversely, not seeing shifts you would expect? Your carrier switches the following behaviour on and off.
The tour leader, tour attachments, the information about who drove the vehicle before your shift and who will drive it after, and the actual data of a completed journey appear once your carrier enables them.
Driver’s Schedule
- Who drove the vehicle before and after the shift - when switched on, the shift detail shows the name and personnel number of the colleague who drove your vehicle before your shift and who will drive it after. It is off by default and these rows are then not shown.
- Monthly hour totals - when switched on (the default), you see the hours worked, the working time fund and the difference above the schedule. When switched off, the totals are not shown.
- How many days ahead the driver sees - the schedule may show only a limited number of days ahead, so that you do not see draft shifts that may still change. Empty or 0 = no limit, you see the whole schedule.
- Show unapproved (drafted) shifts as well - when switched on (the default), you also see unapproved (drafted) shifts; they are shown in red and may still change. When switched off, drafted shifts are not displayed at all.
- Multi-day shifts only on the departure day - a multi-day shift may be displayed only on the departure day, rather than on every day it spans. It is configured separately for scheduled (PAD) and unscheduled (NAD) transport; for scheduled transport it is on by default, for unscheduled off.
Electronic trip log
- Driver fills in the electronic trip log - when switched on (the default), you fill in the electronic trip log and the duty assessment in My Day. Switched off means your carrier does not use the electronic trip log: the trip log card stays visible, but it is read-only and the entry button is unavailable.
- Prefill odometer and engine hours before the trip - when switched on (the default), the trip log offers the vehicle’s last recorded reading. Switched off means you copy the reading before the trip from the odometer; the last recorded reading with its date is shown below the field.
- Engine hours - when switched on (the default), you fill in engine hours at the start and end of the shift. Switched off means your carrier does not record engine hours and the trip log has no such fields.
- Odometer reading when refuelling - when switched on (the default), you also fill in the odometer reading when refuelling. Switched off means the trip log has no such field and refuelling is saved without the odometer reading.
Notifications when the schedule changes
When your schedule changes you receive a push notification, so you find out about the change straight away. Eight items are reported: the document number, vehicle, trailer, order, duty roster, services, driver and the notes about them, and the note on the document. The message states the date of the shift and lists what has changed.
Notifications apply to shifts that have already been numbered (pre-printed) - the document must be numbered both before and after the edit. Your carrier must have sending switched on.
