What the module does
- A list of news items; the number of unread or unconfirmed items is shown by a badge on the tile.
- Both the card and the detail show the item’s validity (from – to, if “to” is set).
- Filter by type, by acknowledgement state, plus full-text search.
- The type carries the colour the content administrator chose for it - on the card, in the list and in the detail - so you can tell the kind of news item at a glance. A type with no colour set stays blue.
- News detail including attachments - images and PDFs open in a preview, other files are downloaded.
- Read confirmation - if the item requires it. Anything awaiting confirmation is shown in purple, confirmed items in green. When a deadline is set, an unconfirmed item shows “Confirm by dd.mm.yyyy”; once the deadline passes it turns red - “Past the deadline” with the date - and a reminder arrives.
For content administrators
News items are created and edited on the web only:
- Creating, editing, copying and deleting news items in a WYSIWYG editor - including inserting images and links directly into the text.
- Valid from is mandatory; valid to is filled in only when the item is meant to expire.
- The Active switch - recipients do not see an inactive item.
- A copy of an item is created inactive and with “(kopie)” appended to its title, so you can adjust it before publishing.
- Targeting has four levels: Depots, Departments, Categories and Employees by name. You can pick at most 10 values per level; an empty level means everyone. The Recipients tab shows who will receive the item - a list of names with a column saying whether the notification will reach them. It is computed from the targeting you have set right now, so you can check the selection before saving.
- Enabling read confirmation and a custom Confirmation button text.
- Acknowledgement deadline - for an item with confirmation you set a deadline in days (the default is configured by your carrier), optionally a reminder repetition and a Report e-mail. That e-mail replaces the author - an empty field means the author receives the report. The deadline may not exceed the item’s validity.
- Acknowledgement check - once the deadline passes, the system sends a reminder to those who have not confirmed and a report by e-mail. Everything sits under the Acknowledgement (N) button, where N is the number of open checks: the acknowledgement overview and the Acknowledgement checks item with a log of checks that have run, a list of people who have not acknowledged the item, a repeated reminder, closing the check and a CSV export. For each recipient you can see whether the reminder is Delivered, Not delivered, or No contact - meaning the person has neither an e-mail address nor a device with EDISONKA.
- Remind - sending a reminder manually, only to those who have not confirmed yet.
- Sending a notification to EDISONKA. The confirmation dialog first states how many people the targeting reaches and how many of them have a registered EDISONKA phone - those without one have nowhere to receive it. If the targeting does not match you, the dialog says so: you will not get your own notification even when sending succeeds. A notification cannot be sent for an item recipients would not see - turned off, not valid yet, or past its validity.
- An overview of who viewed and confirmed the item - Export Excel, Export CSV and Print protocol. A PDF is produced by the browser’s print dialog; it is not generated on its own.
- Clearing the history of views and confirmations (reset).
- In the administration table the administrator sees all news items and sorts them with the State and Validity filters. The reader’s list My news shows even an administrator only the items targeted at them.
- A cards × table view switch in both lists.
- Move to documents.
- Managing news types, including the colour that makes a type recognisable in the lists.
Differences between the phone and the web
- News items are created and edited on the web only; in EDISONKA they are read and confirmed.
- The web offers four state options in the list - All / Not viewed / Not confirmed / Pending; EDISONKA has a single pending switch.
- Past the deadline EDISONKA puts the date in brackets - “Past the deadline (dd.mm.yyyy)”; the web writes it without brackets.
- Attachments can be shared, and a download in progress cancelled by tapping again, only in EDISONKA; the web opens the attachment in a preview or downloads it.
- Managing types, the acknowledgement overview, checks and exports are available on the web only.
Carrier settings
Defaults the company sets once for the whole module. The administrator can override them on an individual item.
- Default acknowledgement deadline (days) - pre-filled for a new item. Empty = do not pre-fill, 0 = do not check.
- Default reminder repetition (days) - pre-filled for a new item. Empty = do not pre-fill, 0 = send once.
- Report copy to e-mails - comma-separated e-mails; they get a copy of every acknowledgement check report.
- Send the report even at 100 % - off = the report is sent only when someone has not acknowledged the item.
